Service Organizations of San Pedro Catholic Church
Adult EducationThe parishioners are given the opportunity to become better educated in the faith each Spring and Fall. Topics include the sacraments, creed, commandments and sacred scripture. Videos and discussion groups are utilized. Morning and evening classes are available. For more information, please contact the Religious Education Office at 426-2893.
Altar ServersStudents are eligible to become Altar Servers after they have received First Communion. Those who volunteer are trained and outfitted with a cassock and surplice. A monthly schedule with Mass assignments is given out at the monthly meeting. Adult Altar Servers assist at the daily 8:30am Mass, the 7:30am Sunday Masses and funerals. ChoirThe Choir sings at the Saturday and Sunday Masses. Rehearsals are held every Wednesday afternoon at 1pm. In addition to the weekend Masses, they sing at weddings and funerals. For more information, please contact Nathan Boock at 426-4729.

Eucharistic MinistersPastors may call parishioners to become special ministers of the Eucharist. After a training program, the candidate is formally commissioned to serve at the altar and carry the Eucharist to shut-ins and those in nursing homes. Classes in pastoral ministry and workshops are periodically attended by those called.
Family Center VolunteerWe are looking for people who want to help make a difference. To build and fund The Family Center on the San Pedro campus, we will need the help from many, many parishioners with a wide range of talents. Family LifeFamily ministries are those ministries which celebrate, support, serve and empower the diversity of families who are Church today. Holy Name SocietyThe Society is a branch of a worldwide confraternity of the Church founded to publicly proclaim Jesus as our Lord and Savior. This is a spiritual organization which also supports our Pastor by helping our parish with supplies, equipment, maintenance and financial needs through our bingo games. Ladies GuildThe Guild assists the Church spiritually, financially and socially. Meetings are the first Monday of each month, September through May. Dues are $5.00 per year.

LectorsThe reader or lector is appointed for a function proper for him or her, that of reading the Word of God in the liturgical assembly. Those chosen are carefully prepared so that the reading should develop in the faithful a profound appreciation of Scripture.

Prayer GroupsThe Living in the Spirit Prayer Group welcomes everyone on Thursday evenings between 7pm and 8:30pm. Formet consists of prayer, worship and praise through singing, quiet time with the Lord, a weekly scriptural teaching, testimony and sharing. It is a time to gather in community to praise God on a one-to-one basis as the Spirit moves us. Contact Marie Kalapati at 426-0083.
To Jesus Through Mary Rosary Group. The 15 mysteries of the rosary as well as consecrations to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary are recited every Wednesday morning at 9:15am. Please contact Martha Ess at 426-1980.
The Medjurgorje Prayer Group. Rosary Group meets in the Parish Life Center every Wednesday morning after the 8:30am Mass. R.C.I.A.The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, a process for welcoming newcomers (inquirers) to the Church. Are you curious about the Catholic Faith? Religious EducationK-4 on Sundays, 10am to 11:30am, Pre-K-K-1-3 Wednesdays, 4:15-5:15pm, and Grades 5-8 Wednesdays, 6:45-8pm from September to May. Teachers and Assistants are all volunteers.

Respite CareSponsored by the National Council of Catholic Women, this program supports families who care for their elderly members at home. Volunteers offer short-term "respite care" to the elderly and offer a caregiver a few hours off on a regularly scheduled basis. This enables the primary caregiver to know their loved one is cared for while they are gone. Rosary MakersThis group meets the third Tuesday of every month in the Activity Center. For more information, please contact Mary Ann Genauso at 426-6740.
SacristansThe Sacristy is the special room in the church where the sacred utensils, vestments, etc., are kept. Sacristans are dedicated volunteer who take care of these items. They serve on a rotation basis at the week-day and weekend Masses. They also assist at Funeral Masses, Memorial Masses, weddings and Baptisms. If you would like to volunteer and be a Sacristan, contact Ruth Quinn at 426-6289.
SocialblesCome one, come all, to social events for men and women every Friday at the Activity Center beginning with Line Dancing from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by Bridge and Pinochle from 12:15 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Lessons available to newcomers. St. Vincent de PaulAn international organization that helps the needy with food, clothing and financial assistance. It also provides aid during disasters, floods, hurricanes, etc. Help is made possible through the generosity of the parishioners via the poor boxes and donations of food and clothing. Meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of each month at 9:00 a.m. in the Activity Center.
UshersUshers help out before, during and after each Mass. Duties include seating people, taking up collections at Mass, assisting Euchasistic Ministers, crowd control when required, and passing out the bulletins. For more information, please contact Michael Noonan at 429-4456.
Youth GroupOpen to Catholic youth in Grades 6-12, the group strives to foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person and to draw them to responsible participation in the life, mission and work of our faith community. Monthly calendars are filled with social meetings, dances, field trips, retreats, Bible studies, special youth liturgies and service projects.
